Cake Pops

We bought a four pack of cake pops not long ago and that got me wanting to make some of our own. They turned out wonderfully and are fun to make! Careful… they disappear quicker than you think they will. ❤

Let’s Get Crafty!

Ingredients:
1 box of cake mix (flavor of your choice) made according to the box directions
3/4 container of frosting
Large package of melting chocolate chips ( We really like the Ghirardelli Vanilla Flavored Melting Wafers, if you can find them. They are a little spendy but they melt like a dream and taste fabulous)
Sprinkles (if your heart desires)

Using boxed cake mix, bake the flavor of your choice.
Once it is done cooking, set it aside and let it fully cool. Then start crumbling it.

All crumbled up
Add 3/4 of a container of frosting and combine well.
Roll the cake into little balls and put them in the freezer for around 45 minutes.
This helps them harden a little bit so they are easier to roll in melted chocolate.

The melting chocolate wafers were gently warmed in the microwave and the partially frozen cake balls were rolled in the chocolate until they were fully covered. If you want to add sprinkles, you will want to do it quickly after the chocolate coating is added because it hardens quickly and then the sprinkles will no longer stick.

If you have shenanigans with the cake pop falling apart as you try to roll it in the chocolate, it might need to pop back into the freezer for a little longer.

Because I just have to share…. these were the Ah-MAZ-ing cake pops that my sister-in-law made for our wedding. Our colors were dark fall colors like chocolate brown, burnt orange and deep red.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you all have a wonderful day.
