Frozen Peach Slices for Peach Cobbler

Last year we froze apple slices for apple pie and they were fun to use later in the year, so I wanted to give sliced peaches a try for this year.

We did 6 sliced peaches in each of the freezer ziploc bags to use in peach cobbler down the road. Our middle kiddo is loving baking and being in the kitchen. These will be perfect for when she gets in the mood for baking over the next couple months.

Ingredients for Each Cobbler:
6 peaches, peeled and sliced
4 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the peaches we blanched them in boiling water for 30 seconds and the peels slid right off. This is similar to what we do for tomatoes during the salsa making process but these peach peels slid off even easier than the tomato skins.

We got our bags ready with the sliced peaches and then I added the rest of the ingredients and gently mixed before laying them flat in the freezer. (My mother-in-law recommends laying them flat so they thaw out quicker.)

This is just the peaches at this point. Look how juicy they are!

Don’t mind the Ping Pong match from the Olympics in the background. 😀

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a great day.
