It was Sunday afternoon and we had some chicken thawed out for dinner but I changed my mind on what to make. The kids love spaghetti so this dinner was a spin on having a spaghetti-like dinner for them.
This recipe bakes in the oven for 50 mins to an hour but it is super easy to toss together and doesn’t need a lot of hands on time.

Let’s Get Crafty!
Ingredients:
16 oz penne pasta (1 box)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon italian seasoning
2 cups diced uncooked chicken (sprinkle with salt and pepper)
1 can chicken broth (2 cups)
2 cups pasta sauce
1 cup water (putting in the pasta sauce container to grab the extra sauce)
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella
Preheat oven to 425
We used a 9×13 lasagna dish because it was deeper and larger than the other baking dishes we have. This helped to spread out the ingredients a little more.
Spread out uncooked penne pasta in the baking dish and add the diced chicken breast with seasonings over the top. Pour the chicken broth and pasta sauce over the top.

Give it a good stir to mix everything together.

Bake for 40 minutes covered stirring halfway through. I added another cup of extra hot water because it looked like it needed it.
Then sprinkle the cheese on top and bake covered for another 10 minutes until the cheese is melty.
Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

The girls weren’t big fans of the chicken in this but liked the pasta. I want to try it again with precooked sausage and see what they think. It was super easy to throw together and the oven did all the work.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope your week is off to a good start.
