A few of these recipes have been popping up and I just had to give them a try. The recipes say how delicious they are and how simple the recipe is… both are great starting points in my book.

Let’s Get Crafty!
Ingredients:
- 1 package butter yellow cake mix
- 4 large eggs (2 for cake and 2 for topping)
- ½ cup melted unsalted butter
- 1 (8-ounce) package softened cream cheese
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Heat the oven to 350 (325 for higher altitude.)
Add nonstick spray to your baking dish or use parchment paper to lift out the bars.
For the base layer – Combine the yellow butter cake mix, two of the eggs and 1/2 cup of melted butter. You can do this by hand or with an electric mixer. Once combined well, spread into the bottom of the sprayed or lined pay. I’ve seen suggestions about spaying the spatula with non-stick spray to help make it easier to spread since it is a thicker looking batter.

Then – for the magic layer! – Combine the 8oz package of softened cream cheese, 2 eggs, 4 cups of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla until nice and smooth. Pour this over the cake batter.

Bake for 35 – 40 minutes and let cool for at least 2 hours.
I was reading tips and tricks on this recipe with several saying that it’s important not to overcook it. When taking it out of the oven when it’s done, the middle may still have a little jiggle.
