Apple Pie Filling

I’ve had going to an apple orchard on my fall bucket list the last couple years and I tend to think about it too late in the season so this year I checked into it early and set myself a reminder. It was fun getting to pick apples right off the trees.

Let’s Get Crafty!

Ingredients:
7 cups apples (peeled, sliced and cored)
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Combine the ingredients in the bag and gently stir to distribute all around while trying to keep as many of the apples intact as possible.

While slicing and preparing the apples, put the ones you are done with in a bowl of water with some lemon juice or fruit fresh to help the apples keep their color and not turn brown too quickly on you while you are still working on getting the other apples ready.

We made two of these and popped them into the freezer.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a great day.
