Million Dollar Spaghetti

This is a truly indulgent meal that takes a spaghetti dinner to the next level. My middle kiddo had been asking for million dollar spaghetti and we finally got it worked into the meal rotation on a weekend where we were able to enjoy a summer day at home filled with running through sprinklers, sitting on the back porch and ending the day with a comfort meal at its finest.

If you’re working on your grocery list this morning and meal planning for the week, this is a good one to add into the rotation!

Ingredients:
1 lb mild sausage, cooked
15 oz container of ricotta cheese
2 eggs
1/3 cup grated parmesan
3 cups mozzarella cheese or cheese blend of your choice
1 lb spaghetti pasta, cooked and drained
5 cups spaghetti sauce (homemade or two jars)

Preheat oven to 350.

Cook and drain the spaghetti until al dente. You want to be careful not to overcook the pasta initially because they will cook more while baking.

Mix together the ricotta, 2 cups of cheese, 2 eggs and 1/3 cup parmesan.

Combine the spaghetti sauce and cooked sausage and warm over medium heat.

Combine the pasta and cheese mixture until well combined.

Begin the layering process as outlined:

Final 1 cup of shredded cheese

Bake at 350, covered for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake another 30 minutes.

This recipe makes a very large portion. We ended up eating half that night and freezing the rest for a future meal. It took about double the time to warm it up from frozen.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a wonderful day.
